Aladdin Pita, nestled in Merrillville, IN, is quickly becoming a favorite among those seeking authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. Diners rave about the freshness and homemade touch of every dish, with standout items including the delicious lentil soup, warm pita, and flavorful hummus. Customers like Yesenia Rybarski and Fareed Mohammed highlight the friendly service and delightful beverages, especially the hand-squeezed orange juice.
One of the major attractions is their weekend buffet, which offers a diverse array of dishes, as noted by Nabil Ibtehaz. With options like tender lamb and flavorful rice, each bite is bursting with authentic seasonings. Although some observed the limited variety in meat dishes, the overall dining experience exceeds expectations, especially for just $30—a fair price for such quality.

The service was fast and the wait staff were very friendly. The food was delicious! Everything was fresh and homemade. Definitely authentic and you can taste the seasonings in every bite. The coffee was delicious but so was the hand squeezed orange juice. Can’t wait to come back again soon, can’t believe I’ve waited this long to try this hidden gem!

This place has great food at reasonable prices with good service. They have great lentil soup, and they give you warm pita and hummus, both of which are delicious. It's a bit unassuming, and they have a small grocery store right when you walk in, but the restaurant is nice and a very pleasant place for a nice lunch. I also tried the rice pudding, and I'm a harsh citric of rice puddings, but this one was excellent. This review is based on 3 experiences about 6 months apart.

We tried their weekend buffet, Sunday 1-9, (reservation recommended), which was phenomenal. The buffet had like 10 dishes, but all were equally delicious and beyond expectations. The lambs were tender, the rices were flavorful, the pastas were scrumptious. They provided pita breads on the tables which is really nice to eat with the soup, particularly the lentil soup. Only downside is the lack of beef dishes (there was only one with okra). The dessert section was a bit limited but they were amazing. 30 for this halal buffet may seem much, but it’s totally worth it.

The wait staff was polite and the service was prompt. The cuisine was excellent! Everything was created by hand and fresh. You can taste the flavors in every bite, making it real. Both the coffee and the freshly squeezed orange juice were excellent. I can't believe I've waited this long to try this hidden gem—I can't wait to return soon!

Just stopped here yesterday, my first visit. Middle eastern grocery where you enter and a rather large restaurant to the left. Friendly employees, I had the beef Shawarma it was really good. Nice rice on the side. It came with soup, a nice small dish of both humus and baba ganoush. With a couple of pieces of pita. Of course I asked for sumac and hot sauce. Great meal, I'll be back soon.

Been about 10 years since I been here, food is still cooked very well, and tasty. Some items are a little pricey, but overall good deals still. Had a meal for around 14 and I enjoy the dark ambience inside.
